Siskiyou County authorities are still looking for 3 home-invasion robbers

YREKA, Calif. — Authorities in Siskiyou County continue to look for three men who reportedly held a woman at gunpoint and stole cash and guns from her home.

A 29-year-old woman called 9-1-1 shortly before 10 p.m. Friday to report the robbery, the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office reported Monday. She told police that three men came into her Grenada home through an unlocked door Friday evening, put a gun to her head and threatened to kill her. One of the men demanded the key to a gun safe in the home and hit the woman in the head, knocking her to the ground.

When she got the key, they pushed her away and took six guns and an undisclosed amount of cash. They told her to shut herself in the bathroom with the lights out and threatened to return and harm her and her family if she called police, the sheriff's office reported in a news release today.

She told police that she waited 15 or 20 minutes, then came out of the bathroom to check on her young children who were sleeping in the home and call for help.

Emergency medical crews tended her minor injuries and deputies got a description of the attackers. The woman's husband, who wasn't home at the time of the robbery, also returned.

Deputies, Yreka police and the California Highway Patrol searched the area, but didn't find the suspects. They are still looking for the three men.

One suspect is a white man, about 6 feet 4 inches tall and very thin. He was wearing a black ski mask, dark gloves, a dirty blue denim jacket, blue jeans and tan, steel-toed work boots.

The second suspect was a white man about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a ski mask, dark clothing, tan leather work gloves and tan work boots.

The third suspect was a white man about 5 feet 6 inches tall with medium build. He was wearing a ski mask, a red and black windbreaker, blue jeans, dark gloves and tan work boots, similar to those the others wore.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Siskiyou County Sheriff's dispatch center at 530-841-2900.
