Sheriff's deputy rolls patrol car on icy roads

A Jackson County Sheriff's Department deputy was not injured after crashing his patrol car on icy roads near Eagle Point late Thursday.

The deputy's name was not available late Thursday, though sheriff's department officials said he was not injured when his car rolled over at the intersection of Highway 62 and Linn Road.

The crash was part of a busy day for sheriff's department deputies. Icy roads contributed to several crashes throughout Jackson County on Thursday.

Dispatchers said the area between Eagle Point and White City was hit especially hard after severely slippery conditions wrecked havoc on drivers throughout the night.

No serious injuries were reported by late Thursday, dispatchers said.
