Police still on the hunt for missing Ashland man

An Ashland man who was last seen walking away from his home the morning of Monday, April 10, still has not been found.

Harold Hardesty, 86, was reported missing April 12. He reportedly has dementia.

Jackson County Search & Rescue teams searched the property surrounding Hardesty's home in the 1200 block of Oak Street over the weekend.

"We've expanded the area quite a bit with our personnel. Our detectives have also been working the case just following up on anybody who knew him," said Sheriff Nathan Sickler.

Air searches included use of a helicopter, airplanes and a drone. Crews have also searched nearby Bear Creek and throughout the property grounds, according to a Facebook post.

"We're doing as much as we can think to do," Sickler said.

Hardesty was last seen wearing a white knit hat, a black rain jacket with a hood, blue jeans and white shoes. Anyone with information about the case can call dispatch at 541-776-7206. Refer to case no. 17-7202.
