Police seek convicted felon

Police need your help in locating convicted felon and wanted sex offender Mitchell (Mitch) John Ibarra, 23.

In January 2007, Ibarra was convicted of the felony charge of first-degree attempted sex abuse. The victim was a 7-year-old girl known to him. Ibarra was sentenced to 30 days in jail, five years' probation and required to register as a sex offender.

As a registered sex offender, Ibarra is required by law to report his new address within 10 days of moving and within 10 days of his birthday. The last time Ibarra registered was Sept. 17 with an address in Medford.

Because Ibarra has violated the terms of his probation and his whereabouts are unknown, a felony warrant, held by the Medford Police Department, has been issued. There is an additional felony warrant, also held by the Medford Police Department, for failure to register as a sex offender, total bail $15,000.

Ibarra is described as a white or Hispanic man, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 165 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a mole on his chin and a birthmark on the right side of his face. The picture shown here, taken July 19, is the most recent photo available.

If you have seen Ibarra or have information of his whereabouts, please contact Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon at 800-3-DETECT (800-333-8328). This Crime Stopper's case number is MT-379.

Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case or any unsolved criminal activity. Callers can remain anonymous. The reward is sponsored by Sonitrol of Eugene.
