Police investigate stabbing in Medford

Police are investigating a stabbing that happened Wednesday afternoon on North Riverside Avenue in Medford.

Medford police Lt. Mike Budreau said a man was stabbed at a home at 754 N. Riverside and taken to the hospital, where he underwent surgery for his wounds.

"He is expected to live," Budreau said.

Police did not release the man's name. They were hoping to get a statement from him after he recovers enough to speak with them.

Officers were called to the home Wednesday afternoon and found that the victim had left the scene after he was injured.

The suspect remained at the home and was questioned by police.

The victim was treated for stab wounds to his arms, Budreau said.

More information could become available in the near future, Budreau said.
