Pair of robbers makes off with Adult Shop money

Two men with their faces covered robbed the Adult Shop on Barnett Road Monday morning, Medford police reported.

Investigators are still searching for the pair who reportedly came into the store at 261 E. Barnett Road moments after 7 a.m. and demanded cash from the employees. The robbers had their hands in their pockets and made threatening motions, indicating they might have had weapons, Medford police Lt. Bob Hansen said. No weapons were seen, he said.

The robbers got an undisclosed amount of cash and left the store via a door on the north side, he said. Surveillance cameras caught photos of the two robbers, each of whom had his face covered with stiff, black mesh or netting that obscured his features, Hansen said.

One suspect was described as between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, with a thin build. He wore a black, hooded sweatshirt, light gray, baggy sweatpants, black gloves and dark tennis shoes. The other man was between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches. He wore a dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt with the word "Southpole" amid a design on the front, dark pants, white cloth gloves and light-colored tennis shoes.

Hansen noted that 7 a.m. was an unusual time for a robbery at a business that is open 24 hours a day. The shop, which is part of a chain with locations along Interstate 5, is near the freeway and in a shopping center with a large parking lot. Investigators didn't have any information on which direction the robbers headed or if they had a vehicle.

Police ask anyone with information regarding the case to call Detective Tony Young at 541-774-2244.
