No charges filed so far in Prospect shooting

A 53-year-old Prospect man who shot another man Monday afternoon is cooperating with investigators from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, authorities said.

John Davidson called 911 just before 2 p.m. Monday to report he had shot another man.

The injured man drove himself to the Mill Creek store, where a store clerk rendered first aid until medical personnel arrived. A Mercy Flights air ambulance took him to a hospital. Sheriff's officials said the man had a gunshot wound to his right shoulder and was recovering.

The Sheriff's Department said in a news release Tuesday that the shooting remains under investigation, and no charges had been filed as of yet.
