In conjunction with Meth Watch, the Mail Tribune compiles weekly statistics to demonstrate the effects of methamphetamine on the community.
- Arrests — Four people were arrested last week and lodged in the Jackson County Jail on meth-related charges, representing 10 percent of the county's total felony arrests for the week. Three suspects were arrested for possessing meth, and one was arrested for possessing and delivering the illegal drug. One arrest was in conjunction with another criminal charge.
- Court appearances — Four people appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court last week on meth-related indictments, representing 30 percent of the week's total felony arraignments for defendants not in jail. Three people were indicted for possessing meth, and one was indicted for possessing, delivering and manufacturing the illegal drug. Two defendants' indictments included other criminal charges.
- Addiction recovery — Twelve meth addicts entered treatment last week and two completed treatment at OnTrack Inc. Three meth addicts were admitted to treatment and two completed treatment last week at Addictions Recovery Center.
