A Medford firefighter peers through smoke while investigating a house fire in the 1100 block of West 11th Street in Medford Tuesday afternoon. Medford Fire-Rescue responded to a report of fire coming out of the windows of the abandoned home at about 2:10 p.m. and knocked down the blaze within minutes. Fire damage was contained mostly to one room, but there was smoke damage throughout the house, Battalion Chief Ken Goodson said. The cause is still under investigation.
