Felony arrests

Drugs — Jacob Carl Lyon, 27, no known address. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Lyon Wednesday on an additional felony charge of possessing methamphetamine. Medford police originally arrested Lyon Monday for violating his parole on a prior meth possession conviction. He remained held in the Jackson County Jail Wednesday without bail.

Drugs — Nicole Lee Kendall, 36, of the 600 block of South Columbus Avenue, Medford. The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force arrested Kendall Tuesday on felony charges of manufacturing and delivering heroin within 1,000 feet of a school, manufacturing and delivering methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school, possessing meth and heroin and three felony counts of first-degree child neglect. She remained held in the jail Wednesday on $500,000 bail.

Drugs — Mistie Lee Vespoli, 41, of Drain. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Vespoli Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, on misdemeanor warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, first-degree theft, second-degree burglary and on an out-of-county warrant for failing to appear on a fourth-degree assault charge. She was held in jail Wednesday on $20,000 bail.

Weapon Use — John Lloyd Biles, 35, of the 2300 block of Abbott Avenue, Ashland. Ashland police arrested Biles Wednesday on a felony charge of unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor counts of menacing and harassment. He was additionally charged in Jackson County Circuit Court Wednesday on an additional misdemeanor charge of pointing a firearm at another. He was held in jail Wednesday on $250,000 bail.

Elude — Michael Spencer Matthews, 29, of the 300 block of South Ivy Street, Medford. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Matthews Wednesday on felony charges of attempt to elude police in a vehicle and possessing heroin, misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving, attempt to elude police on foot, a misdemeanor warrant for failing to appear in court on a prior charge of driving while suspended and for violating his probation on prior convictions of coercion and fourth-degree assault consisting of domestic violence. He was held in jail on $45,000 bail.

Drugs — Jason Earl Bateman, 39, of the 2500 block of Oak Pine Way, Central Point. On Wednesday, Bateman made his initial appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on a felony charge of possessing heroin. He was booked in the jail and released Wednesday on his own recognizance.

Assault — Edward Allen Reed Jr., 52, of the 300 block of South Ivy Street, Medford. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Matthews Wednesday on a felony charge of fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence and a misdemeanor charge of harassment. He was held in jail Wednesday on $10,000 bail.

Drugs — Lee Leon Tyrone Ollison, 33, no known address. Medford police arrested Ollison Wednesday on felony charges of manufacturing, delivering and possessing methamphetamine, manufacturing, delivering and possessing heroin and for violating his parole on a prior first-degree arson conviction. He was held in jail Wednesday without bail.

Drugs — Daniel Norman Ziegler, 41, no known address. The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force arrested Ziegler Wednesday on felony charges of manufacturing, delivering and possessing heroin, and for violating his parole on a prior methamphetamine delivery conviction. He was held in jail Wednesday without bail.


Crime reports

Theft — 2300 block of Poplar Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen tablet at 9:54 a.m. Wednesday. The loss was valued at $560.

Vehicle Theft — First block of North Berkeley Way, Medford. Medford police took a report of a vehicle theft at 10:36 a.m. Wednesday. Items reported stolen inside the vehicle included two silver necklaces, a rolling black canvas suitcase and a red and white Norwegian knit sweater. The items were valued at $935.
