Felony arrests

Note: bail amounts were not available at press time Thursday.

Arson — Jesus Ernesto Garcia, 34, of the 100 block of Woodbury Court, Central point. Medford police arrested Garcia Thursday on a felony charge of first-degree arson. Central Point police originally arrested Garcia Wednesday on a warrant for violating his parole on a prior conviction for failing to register his address as a sex offender. He remained held in the Jackson County Jail Thursday without bail.

Elude — Jeffrey Todd Smits, 44, of the 1200 block of Wedgewood Drive, Eagle Point. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Smits Wednesday on a felony charge of attempting to elude police in a vehicle and misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person. He remained held in the jail Thursday.

Elude — Jeremy Nevada Lewis, 48, of the 2500 block of Dellwood Avenue, Medford. Eagle Point police arrested Lewis Thursday on felony charges of attempting to elude police in a vehicle, possessing methamphetamine and first-degree criminal mischief, and on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and hit-and-run. He was held in jail Thursday.

Drugs — Kaylee Jean Novell Jones, 26, no known address. Medford police arrested Jones Thursday on felony charges of manufacturing, delivering and possessing methamphetamine and possessing heroin. She was held in jail Thursday.

Vehicle Theft — Juan Rober Leach, 26, no known address. Medford police arrested Leach Thursday on a felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor charge of possessing methamphetamine and for violating his parole on a prior attempted first-degree assault conviction. He was held in jail Thursday.

ID Theft — Mary Nichole Morales, 27, of the 300 block of West Pine Street, Central Point. On Thursday, Morales made an appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on a felony charge of identity theft and misdemeanor charges of second-degree forgery and second-degree theft. She was booked in the jail Thursday.

Aggravated Harassment — Adam Lee Fisher, 36, no known address. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Fisher Thursday on a felony charge of aggravated harassment and misdemeanor charge of second-degree disorderly conduct. He was held in jail Thursday.

Drugs — Claire Marie Anna Stoll, 23, no known address. Medford police arrested Stoll Thursday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, a misdemeanor charge of third-degree theft and on a sanction for violating her probation on a prior first-degree theft conviction. She was held in jail Thursday.

Robbery — Kyle Alexander Volkart, 25, no known address. Federal agents arrested Volkart Thursday on felony warrants charging him with first- and second-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and first-degree theft, along with misdemeanor for menacing, interfering with someone making a police report and tampering with evidence. He was held in jail Thursday.


Crime reports

Burglary — 3400 block of Cascara Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary at 7:43 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a white golf bag containing Titleist golf clubs and shoes, and a gray golf bag containing a set of Titleist golf clubs. The loss was valued at $700.

Theft — 1800 block of Roberts Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen red, white and chrome Schwinn beach cruiser bike at 8:56 a.m. Thursday. The loss was valued at $200.

Vehicle Theft — 1400 block of Poplar Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 1:41 p.m. Thursday. A light blue Carhartt jacket valued at $150 was reported stolen from the vehicle.
