Felony arrests

Drugs — Jolene Noele Verza, 42, of the 2000 block of Manchester Drive, Medford. Medford police arrested Verza Thursday on felony counts of possessing methamphetamine and heroin, and on a sanction for violating her probation on a prior heroin-possession conviction. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail Thursday without bail.

Criminal Mischief — Nikolas Tyler Brewer, 23, no known address. Central Point police and Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Brewer Thursday on two felony counts of first-degree criminal mischief and misdemeanor charges of second-degree trespassing, second-degree disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief. He was lodged in jail Thursday on $22,500 bail.

Identity Theft — Christina Marie Wilden, 33, of the 3700 block of Avenue A, White City. On Thursday, Wilden made her initial appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on a felony charge of identity theft. She was booked in the jail and released Thursday on her own recognizance.

Burglary — Martyne Christopher Elmer, 50, of the 2500 block of Table Rock Road, Medford. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Elmer Thursday on a felony charge of second-degree burglary, misdemeanor charges of second-degree theft, violating a no-contact order and second-degree trespassing, on misdemeanor warrants charging him with failing to appear in court on previous charges of endangering a person protected by the Family Abuse Protection Act, fourth-degree assault, harassment and violating a restraining order, and on out-of-county warrants charging him with contempt. He was lodged in jail Thursday without bail.

Drugs — Brandy Nicole Bentley, 32, no known address. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Bentley Thursday on a felony warrant charging her with possessing methamphetamine, and on misdemeanor warrants charging her with failing to appear in court on previous charges of possessing heroin, attempt to elude police in a vehicle, possessing meth, third-degree robbery, reckless driving, attempting to elude police on foot, recklessly endangering and resisting arrest. She was lodged in jail Thursday on $47,500 bail.

Sodomy — Jacobo Arechiga-Escobedo, 74, of the first block of Jeanette Avenue, Medford. Medford police arrested Arechiga-Escobedo Thursday on two felony counts of first-degree sodomy and three felony counts if first-degree sex abuse. He was lodged in jail Thursday on $1.25 million bail.

Vandalism — 100 block of North Fir Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of vandalism to a front window at 4:23 a.m. Wednesday. The damage was valued at $500.

Vandalism — 100 block of North Fir Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of vandalism to a side patio window shattered by a rock at 7:17 a.m. Wednesday. The damage was valued at $800.

Vandalism — 1100 block of West Main Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of vandalism to a window at 9:03 a.m. Wednesday. The damage was valued at $300.

Vandalism — 300 block of East Main Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of vandalism to two storefront windows at 9:59 a.m. Wednesday. The damage was valued at $1,200.

Vandalism — 200 block of North Oakdale Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of graffiti to a bus at 10:51 a.m. Wednesday. The damage was valued at $200.

Theft — 2100 block of Biddle Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday. A dark brown ukulele valued at $150 was reported stolen.

Theft — 200 block of Island Pointe Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 7:22 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses, a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone, and a gold and quarter-carat diamond ring. The loss was valued at $650.

Burglary — 2300 block of Poplar Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a business at 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen from the store were valued at $3,037.

Theft — 1900 block of Canyon Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 9:04 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a Washington drivers license, a gray Jansen backpack, eight diapers, two Social Security cards and debit cards in a bifold wallet. The loss was valued at $61.

Burglary — 200 block of East Barnett Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen bicycle at 12:21 p.m. Thursday. The loss was valued at $1,500.

Theft — 2100 block of Siskiyou Boulevard, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a business at 1:22 p.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included two chainsaws. The loss was valued at $800.
