Felony arrests

Drugs — Brandon Thomas Hoage, 33, no known address. Central Point police arrested Hoage Monday on a felony charge of possessing heroin and on a sanction for violating his probation on a prior first-degree theft conviction. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Tuesday without bail.

Sex offender — Michael Ray Gundlach, 58, of the first block of Meadow Lane, Shady Cove. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Gundlach Monday on a felony warrant charging him with failing to register his address as a sex offender. He was booked in the jail Monday and released Tuesday on his own recognizance.

Drugs — David Jonathan Smith, 35, of the 500 block of Barnum Drive, Phoenix. Ashland police arrested Smith Tuesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, a misdemeanor charge of tampering with evidence and on a sanction for violating his probation on a prior meth possession conviction. He was lodged in jail Tuesday without bail.

Assault — Silver Joy Spangler, 29, of the 3400 block of Phaedra Lane, White City. On Tuesday, Spangler made her initial appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on a felony charge of third-degree assault and a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree assault. She was booked in the jail and released Tuesday on her own recognizance.

Driving While Suspended — Jason Dow Eaves, 34, of the 1600 block of George Tweed Boulevard, Grants Pass. On Tuesday, Eaves made his initial court appearance on a felony charge of driving while suspended. He was booked in the jail and released Tuesday on his own recognizance.

Theft — Bretton Blake Howard, 24, of the 1100 bock of Boulder Ridge Street, Central Point. On Tuesday, Howard made his initial court appearance on five felony counts of first-degree theft. He was booked in the jail and released Tuesday on his own recognizance.

Drugs — Nicole Leann Helling, 27, no known address. The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force arrested Helling Tuesday on felony charges of manufacturing and delivering methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school, manufacturing and delivering heroin with 1,000 feet of a school, and possessing meth and heroin. She was lodged in jail Tuesday on more than $1 million bail.

Elude — Brandon Salvador Munoz, 21, of the 400 block of North Old Stage Road, Central Point. Medford police and Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Munoz on a felony charge of attempting to elude police in a vehicle, misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and driving while suspended, misdemeanor warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempting to elude police in a vehicle, felon in possession of a restricted weapon, driving while suspended, reckless driving, interfering with police, attempting to elude police on foot and second-degree theft, and on a sanction for violating his probation on a previous unauthorized use of a motor vehicle conviction. He was lodged in jail Tuesday without bail.

Crime reports

Vandalism — 800 block of Biddle Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a business at 4:21 a.m. Monday. A door frame was reported damaged from some sort of pry tool. The damage was valued at $400.

Theft — 200 block of Stewart Avenue. Medford police took a report of two gallons of gas stolen from a vehicle at 8:36 a.m. Monday.

Theft — 1000 block of West Ninth Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 9:24 a.m. Monday. Items reported stolen included 10 CDs, a small pocket knife, nitroglycerin pills and sex offender registration paperwork. The loss was valued at $132.

Theft — 2800 block of Nansen Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 9:57 a.m. Monday. Items reported stolen included an HP Pavilion laptop in Victorinox case, two pairs of prescription glasses, hammock with netting, orange Patagonia backpack, Marmot Never Winter sleeping bag, 64 ounce Hydro Flask and a Home Depot bag containing personal paperwork. The loss was valued at $1,550.

Theft — Bear Creek Greenway, Mile Marker 23, Medford. Medford police took a report of stolen vinyl billboard wraps at 10:23 a.m. Monday. The loss was valued at $1,500.

Theft — 600 block of Beatty Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of stolen prescription medication at 10:40 a.m. Monday. The loss was valued at $121.

Theft — 2600 block of Crater Lake Highway, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft at 12:50 p.m. Monday. Items reported stolen included a brown single-fold Fossil wallet and RAM restaurant gift card. The loss was valued at $150.

Burglary — 500 block of West Second Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary at 1:35 p.m. Monday. Empty cans to be recycled were reported stolen. The loss was valued at $100.

Theft — 2100 block of Poplar Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of stolen Pendleton blankets at 6:56 p.m. Monday. The loss as valued at $1,251.

Theft — 200 block of Mace Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 10:03 a.m. Tuesday. About 40 gallons of siphoned gas was reported stolen.

Theft — 2100 block of Kingswood Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 12:37 p.m. Tuesday. Items reported stolen included a black portable Bluetooth speaker, Prana water-repellent pants, rock climbing harness, caribiner and chalk bag. The loss was valued at $420.
