Felony arrests

Contraband — Adam Lee Bilyeu, 30, of the 6900 block of Old Stage Road, Central Point. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Bilyeu Thursday on additional felony charges of supplying contraband and possessing methamphetamine. U.S. department of Veterans Affairs police originally arrested Bilyeu May 8 on warrants for failing to appear on prior forgery and felon in possession of a weapon charges. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Thursday without bail.

Drugs — Brittney Lorna Hooper, 29, no known address. Medford police arrested Hooper Wednesday on a felony count of possessing methamphetamine, misdemeanor warrants for ailing to appear in court on previous contempt, meth possession and interfering with police charges and for violating her parole on a prior meth possession conviction. She remained lodged in jail Thursday without bail.

Drugs — Jay Weston Short, 31, of the 3200 block of South Pacific Highway, Medford. Medford police arrested Short Thursday on felony charges of manufacturing, delivering and possessing methamphetamine, manufacturing, delivering and possessing heroin and for violating his parole on a prior methamphetamine possession conviction. He was lodged in jail Thursday without bail.

Assault — Erik Damian Copeland, 36, of the 1800 block of East Barnet Road, Medford. On Thursday, Copeland made his initial court appearance on a felony charge of third-degree assault, and misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree assault and harassment. He was booked in the jail and released Thursday on his own recognizance.

Sexual Abuse — Travis Paul Ainsworth, 35, of the 2700 block of Beall Lane, Central Point. Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ainsworth Thursday on three felony counts of second-degree sexual abuse and a misdemeanor charge of sexual misconduct. He was lodged in jail Thursday on $25,000 bail.

Weapons — Justin Scott Holt, 35, of the 2400 block of Lark Lane, Central Point. Medford police arrested Hold Thursday on felony charges of possessing a firearm in a public building and concealed possession of a firearm. He was booked in the jail Thursday and released after posting bail.

Attempted Murder — Ryan Daniel Conner, 37, no known address. Medford police arrested Conner Thursday on felony charges of attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, attempted first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, strangulation consisting of domestic violence and a misdemeanor charge of second-degree child neglect. He was lodged in jail Thursday on $342,500 bail.

Identity Theft — David Rae Nix, 25, of the 600 block of Beatty Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Nix Thursday on felony charges of identity theft and possessing heroin, and on a warrant for violating his probation on a prior identity theft conviction. He was lodged in jail Thursday on $25,000 bail.

Crime reports

Theft — 1800 block of Delta Waters Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft at 2:37 p.m. Wednesday. Items reported stolen included a TV from an RV bedroom and prescription medication. The loss was valued at $275.

Theft — 1500 block of South Peach Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft at 6:07 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a 2 gallon canister of fuel for a two-stroke engine, pocket knife, lock and battery charger on a cart. The loss was valued at $130.

Theft — 3600 block of Crater Lake Highway, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 7:35 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phone, black tri-fold wallet, debit card and Oregon Trail card. The loss was valued at $401.

Burglary — 2600 block of Hillcrest Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 10:36 a.m. Thursday. Miscellaneous tools valued at $5,000 were reported stolen.

Burglary — 700 block of North Riverside Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of stolen surveillance cameras at 11:07 a.m. Thursday. The loss was valued at $500.

Theft — 1300 block of Center Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 1:09 p.m. Thursday. A Samsung Galaxy S7 phone valued at $450 was reported stolen.
