Felony arrests

Robbery — Richard Moore Smith III, 35, no known address. Medford police arrested Smith Tuesday on felony charges of first- and second-degree robbery, second-degree assault and first-degree burglary, and for violating his parole on a prior third-degree assault conviction. He was additionally charged Wednesday in Jackson County Circuit Court with manufacturing, delivering and possessing methamphetamine. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Wednesday without bail.

Theft — Casey Robert Riley, 44, of the 500 block of Charlotte Ann Road, Medford. Medford police arrested Riley Tuesday on felony charges of first-degree theft and second-degree burglary, and on a misdemeanor warrant charging him with failing to appear in court on a previous driving while suspended charge. He remained lodged in jail Wednesday on $103,000 bail.

Burglary — Aryel Lynn Arritola, 22, of the 500 block of Mountain View Drive, Central Point. Medford police arrested Arritola Tuesday on felony warrants charging her with first-degree burglary and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor charge of first-degree trespassing, and misdemeanor warrants charging her with second-degree theft and failing to appear in court on previous charges of attempting to elude police in a vehicle and reckless driving, and on an out-of-county warrant for second-degree theft. She was booked in the jail Tuesday and released Wednesday because of overcrowding.

Drugs — Edward Richard Fleming, 39, of the 4100 block of Grant Road, Central Point. Medford police arrested Fleming Tuesday on a felony charge of possessing heroin and on a sanction for violating his probation on a prior first-degree theft conviction. He remained lodged in jail Wednesday without bail.

Criminal Mischief — Devin Friederick Kruse, 22, no known address. Medford police arrested Kruse Wednesday on a felony charge of first-degree criminal mischief and on a misdemeanor warrant charging him with failing to appear in court on a previous first-degree arson charge. He was lodged in jail Wednesday on $27,500 bail.

Drugs — Matthew John Mortinson, 41, of the 700 block of Crater lake Avenue, Medford. The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force arrested Mortinson Wednesday on felony charges of manufacturing, delivering and possessing heroin and possessing methamphetamine. He was lodged in jail Wednesday on $60,000 bail.

Theft — 3000 block of Samike Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen Diamondback bike at 1:19 p.m. Tuesday. The loss was valued at $260.

Theft — 1100 block of North Central Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 2:19 p.m. Tuesday. Items reported stolen included a red leather wallet, gift certificates and miscellaneous bank cards. The loss was valued at $300.

Theft — 1300 block of Center Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of a shoplift at 3:37 p.m. Tuesday. Items reported stolen include a 43-inch Hisense TV and a Vizio soundbar with subwoofer. The loss was valued at $428.

Theft — 300 block of West Main Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen backpack containing a food card, clothing, hygiene items and phone at 3:38 p.m. Tuesday. The loss was valued at $400.

Theft — 1800 block of West Main Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen vacuum sealer at 7:08 p.m. Tuesday. The loss was valued at $450.

Theft — 1300 block of Center Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of a shoplifter at 7:36 p.m. Tuesday. Three Lego sets were reported stolen. The loss was valued at $119.

Theft — 700 block of Cedar Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of ten stolen Stihl MS 461 industrial chainsaws at 3:18 a.m. Wednesday. The loss was valued at $9,500.

Burglary — 1400 block of Oleander Street, Medford. Medford police took a burglary report at 1:46 p.m. Wednesday. Items reported stolen included a vintage pearl necklace, pearl earrings, a black PlayStation 4 with two controllers and games, white Nintendo Wii, an iPad Mini in a hot pink case, Dell and Toshiba laptops and an orange BMX style bike. The loss and damage to a Sentry safe was valued at $3,310.

Burglary — 1300 block of North Central Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a business at 2:29 p.m. Wednesday. A DeWalt drill was reported stolen. The loss and damage to a fence was valued at $120.
