Felony arrests

Drugs — Shane Robert Egan, 25, no known address. Medford police arrested Egan Friday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, a misdemeanor charge of interfering with police and on a sanction for violating his probation on a prior unlawful use of a weapon conviction. He remained held in the Jackson County Jail Saturday without bail.

Weapons — Frank Javier Villareal, 47, no known address. Medford police arrested Villareal Friday on a felony charge of felon in possession of a restricted weapon, misdemeanor charges of providing false information to police and possessing methamphetamine residue, and on a sanction for violating his probation on a prior identity theft conviction. He remained held in jail Saturday without bail.

Mail Theft —Jeffrey Lawrence Kassman, 64, of the 11600 block of Michael Road, Central Point. Ashland police arrested Kassman Saturday on a felony charge of mail theft. He was held in jail Saturday on $7,500 bail.

Burglary — Cody Don Leahan, 31, no known address. Ashland police arrested Leahan Saturday on a felony charge of first-degree burglary, and on misdemeanor charges of first-degree trespassing and third-degree criminal mischief. He was held in jail Saturday on $27,500 bail.


Crime reports

Assault — 200 block of South Front Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of aggravated assault at 12:41 a.m. Friday.

Theft — 800 block of Crestbrook Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 8:25 a.m. Friday. Items reported stolen included a Michael Kors purse containing Beats headphones, cords and a wallet. The loss was valued at $219.

Vandalism — 2200 block of Biddle Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of vandalism to a vehicle at 12:27 p.m. Friday. Damage to a driver-side door lock was valued at $250.

Burglary — 900 block of Alta Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 12:38 p.m. Friday. Items reported stolen included a 10-inch miter saw, two air compressors, a Dremel tool, a plastic tote containing cat food and dog treats and packages of paper products including napkins, paper towels and toilet paper. The loss was valued at $385.

Vandalism — 200 block of Canon Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of damage to a door and deadbolt at 1:23 p.m. Friday. The damage was valued at $150.

Vehicle Theft — West 11th and South Ivy streets, Medford. Medford police took a report of vehicle theft at 1:58 p.m. Friday.

Theft — 100 block of Rossanley Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen iPhone X and iPhone XS at 3:15 p.m. Friday. The loss was valued at $1,900.

Burglary — 2400 block of Pinebrook Circle, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 6:40 p.m. Friday. Items reported stolen included a marijuana vaporizor, electonic dab set, glass bong, dark blue Toshiba laptop, black bag containing a “CRC Inc.” logo and prescription medication. The loss was valued at $820.

Theft — 1200 block of Queen Anne Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of stolen mail packages containing Christmas presents at 6:36 a.m. Saturday. The loss was valued at $185.

Theft — 600 block of South Ivy Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a vehicle break-in at 9:47 a.m. Saturday. A black leather briefcase containing a game was reported stolen. The loss and damage to a vehicle window was valued at $580.

Vandalism — 600 block of Stevens Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a vehicle break-in at 3:07 p.m. Saturday. Damage to the vehicle’s rear window was valued at $500.
