Felony arrests

Drugs — Jose Luis Cervantes, 40, of Grandview, Washington. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Cervantes Monday on a felony warrant charging him with possessing methamphetamine and on an out-of-county warrant charging him with violating his probation on a prior first-degree theft conviction. He was booked in the Jackson County Jail Monday and released Tuesday on his own recognizance.

Drugs — Eurrie Franklin Moody, 39, of the 1800 block of Brookhurst Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Moody Tuesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine. He was booked in the jail and released Tuesday on his own recognizance.

Kidnapping — Matthew Adam Jefferson, 35, of the 5600 block of Lakeshore Drive, Selma. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Jefferson Tuesday on felony warrants charging him with second-degree kidnapping, coercion, fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence, on a misdemeanor warrant charging him with fourth-degree assault and for failing to appear in court on previous charges of identity theft. He remained held in the jail Thursday on $550,000 bail.

Drugs — Jeramiah Ernest Hinkle, 41, of the 3100 block of Kingsgate Circle, Medford. Medford police arrested Hinkle Tuesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine and on a sanction for violating his probation on a prior meth possession conviction. He was booked in the jail Tuesday and released as of Thursday.

Forgery — Stephanie Sue Koontz, 33, of the 500 block of Fairmount Street, Medford. On Tuesday, Koontz made his initial appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on felony charges of first-degree forgery and first-degree theft, and on a misdemeanor charge of possessing methamphetamine. He was booked in the jail and released Tuesday on his own recognizance.

Computer Crime — Joel Matthew Caswell, 24, of the 2100 block of Kingswood Drive, Medford. Medford police arrested Caswell Tuesday on felony charges of computer crime, aggravated first-degree theft, first-degree forgery and identity theft. He was booked in the jail and released Tuesday because of overcrowding.

Assault — Donovan Wayne Satterfield, 28, of the 5100 block of Peace Lane, Central Point. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Satterfield Wednesday on a felony charge of fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence, a misdemeanor charge of harassment, on an out-of-county warrant for failing to appear in court on a previous second-degree theft charge and for violating his parole on a prior fourth-degree assault conviction. He remained held in jail Thursday without bail.

Assault — Henry Carl Blaess, 56, of the 100 block of Reager Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Blaess Tuesday on a felony charge of second-degree assault. He was additionally charged Tuesday in Jackson County Circuit Court with a felony count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He remained held in jail Thursday on $100,000 bail.

Vehicle Theft — James Adelbert Russell, 35, no known address. Ashland police arrested Russell Tuesday on a felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was booked in the jail Tuesday and released as of Thursday.

Criminal Mischief — Emily Danielle Chmelir, 28, no known address. Jackson County sherriff’s deputies arrested Chmelir Tuesday on a felony charge of first-degree criminal mischief and misdemeanor charges of menacing, harassment and unlawfully entering a motor vehicle. She was booked in the jail Tuesday and released as of Thursday.

Elude — Casey Alan Reynolds, 26, no known address. Central Point and Medford police arrested Reynold Tuesday on felony charges of attempting to elude police in a vehicle and delivering and possessing methamphetamine, felony warrants for felon in possession of a restricted weapon and attempt to elude police in a vehicle, a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving, and on misdemeanor warrants for reckless driving, attempt to elude police on foot, and for failing to appear in court on previous charges of recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving, felon in possession of a restricted weapon and attempt to elude police in a vehicle. He remained held in jail Thursday on $80,000 bail.

Theft — Joshua James Powers, 40, no known address. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Powers Tuesday on felony warrants charging him with first-degree theft and possessing methamphetamine. He was booked in the jail Tuesday and released as of Thursday.

Sex Offender — Daniel Jacob Clarke, 20, of the 300 block of Elm Street, Phoenix. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Clarke Wednesday on a felony warrant for failing to register his address as a sex offender. He remained held in jail Thursday on $25,000 bail.

Drugs — Lee Leon Tyrone Ollison, 33, of 100800 block of North Riverside Avenue, Medford. The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force arrested Ollison Wednesday on felony charges of manufacturing, delivering and possessing methamphetamine and fir violating his parole on a prior first-degree arson conviction. He remained held in jail Thursday without bail.

Theft — Carrie L. Parren, 39, no known address. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Parren Wednesday on felony charges of first-degree theft and felon in possession of a restricted weapon, and on a misdemeanor charge of second-degree theft. She was booked in the jail and released Thursday on her own recognizance.

Elude — Christopher Lewis Conner, 36, of the 2500 block of Happy Valley Drive, Medford. Central Point police arrested Conner Wednesday on a felony charge of attempt to elude police in a vehicle, misdemeanor counts of attempt to elude police on foot, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person and on a sanction for violating his probation on a prior methamphetamine delivery conviction. He remained held in jail Thursday without bail.

Elude — Sheena Ann Cortez, 34, of the 1100 block of West Tenth Street, Medford. Central Point police arrested Cortez Wednesday on felony charges of attempt to elude police in a vehicle and possessing heroin, misdemeanor charges of unlawfully possessing methamphetamine and heroin, reckless driving, on misdemeanor warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of manufacturing, delivering and possessing meth, possessing heroin, attempt to elude police in a vehicle, supplying contraband, recklessly endangering another person, hit-and-run and providing false information to police, and for violating her parole on a prior meth delivery conviction. She was held in jail Thursday without bail.

Drugs — Benjamin Joseph Strusz, 33, of the 9400 block of Table Rock Road, Medford. Medford police arrested Strusz Thursday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine and on a sanction for violating his probation on a prior heroin delivery conviction. He was held in jail Thursday without bail.

Burglary — Joseph D. Niebergall, 20, no known address. Medford police arrested Niebergall Thursday on felony charges of second-degree burglary and misdemeanor charges of second-degree theft and second-degree criminal mischief. He was held in jail Thursday.

Theft — Russell Lee Harrington, 72, of the 8800 block of Rogue River Highway, Rogue River. On Thursday, Harrington made his initial court appearance on felony charges of first-degree theft and first-degree criminal mistreatment. He was booked in the jail and released Thursday on his own recognizance.

Drugs — Ronald Cody Ragsdale, 40, no known address. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Ragsdale Thursday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, on misdemeanor counts of third-degree criminal mischief, menacing, second-degree disorderly conduct and second-degree trespassing, and on misdemeanor warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of first-degree burglary and second-degree theft. He was held in jail Thursday.

Attempted Assault — Anthony James Anderson, 34, no known address. Medford police arrested Anderson Thursday on felony charges of attempted first-degree assault and attempted second-degree assault, misdemeanor charges of concealed possession of a firearm, second-degree trespassing and resisting arrest. He was held in jail Thursday.

Drugs — Rodney Lee Gourneau, 28, no known address. Central Point police arrested Gorneau, 28, no known address. Central Point police arrested Gourneau Thursday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charge of violating a no-contact order, and on misdemeanor warrants for resisting arrest, attempted assault on a police officer and harassment. He was held in jail Thursday.

Crime reports

Vandalism — 300 block of South Riverside Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of vandalism to a large front window at 5:37 a.m. Wednesday. The damage was valued at $500.

Vandalism — 100 block of North Peach Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of vandalism to a vehicle at 7:01 a.m. Wednesday. Damage to the rear driver’s side and wheel was valued at $500.

Theft — 200 block of East Barnett Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen brown womens wallet containing food stamps at 7:29 a.m. Wednesday. The loss was valued at $30.

Theft — 500 block of North Riverside Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of multiple stolen cell phones at 10:12 a.m. Wednesday. The loss was valued at $500.

Theft — 3700 block of International Way, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday. Items reported stolen included eight fishing poles, a six-man raft, a Lew’s Mach II fishing pole, fishing tackle, two tents, a pressure washer and two fan heaters. The loss and damage to 10 locks that were picked was valued at $1,090.

Theft — 200 block of South Ivy Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen bike at 200 block of South Ivy Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen bike at 12:43 p.m. Wednesday. The loss was valued at $295.

Vehicle Theft — 2300 block of Biddle Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of a vehicle theft at 3:29 p.m. Wednesday.

Theft — First block of South Fir Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen backpack containing school books. A loss estimate was not immediately available.

Theft — 1400 block of Spring Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 11:53 p.m. Wednesday. Items reported stolen included a gray laptop, a gray and brown wallet containing cash and gift cards, and a black leather planner. The loss was valued at $2,690.

Theft — 1000 block of West Main Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen Lenovo tablet at 1:14 a.m. Thursday. The loss was valued at $130.

Burglary — 2400 block of Edgemont Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 6:02 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a silver Samsung Galaxy J3 in a blue case and a black older model iPod. The loss was valued at $701.

Theft — 1300 block of Center Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 12:02 p.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a tan wallet containing food stamps, an Oregon driver’s license and bank cards. The loss was valued at $1.
