Felony arrests

Robbery — Daniel Reynold Marin, 52, of the 100 block of Tripp Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Marin Monday on a felony charge of second-degree robbery and misdemeanor charges of second-degree theft and harassment. He was booked in the Jackson County Jail Monday and released Tuesday on his own recognizance.

Extortion — Timothy James Freeman, 31, of the 1300 block of South Peach Street, Medford. Central Point police arrested Freeman Tuesday on felony charges of extortion and coercion, and on misdemeanor charges of prostitution and harassment. He was held in jail Tuesday on $25,000 bail.

Theft — Shadrach Jamal Porter, 29, of the 600 block of Siskiyou Boulevard, Medford. Ashland police arrested Porter Tuesday on a felony charge of first-degree theft. He was held in jail Tuesday on $7,500 bail.

Weapon Possession — Jonathon Anthony Kinsella, 46, no known address. The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force arrested Kinsella Tuesday on a felony charge of felon in possession of a restricted weapon and for violating his parole on a prior fourth-degree assault conviction. He was held in jail Tuesday without bail.


Crime reports

Vandalism — 800 block of Niantic Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of vandalism to a vehicle at 6:21 a.m. Tuesday. Damage to a vehicle mirror cover and dents in the driver-side door were valued at $500.

Theft — 3300 block of Alameda Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 8:01 a.m. Tuesday. A pink purse and brown wallet were reported stolen. The loss was valued at $50.

Theft — 200 block of North Riverside Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. Items reported stolen included about 25 college textbooks, along with assorted hand tools and ratchets. The loss was valued at $1,450.

Burglary — 1200 block of Progress Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday. A television and cell phone were reported stolen.

Vandalism — 2000 block of Brookhurst Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a hood ornament stolen off a Mercedes-Benz at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday. The loss was valued at $100.

Theft — 1300 block of Center Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft at 9:11 a.m. Tuesday. Items reported stolen included a black zippered wallet, an Oregon Trail card, an Oregon ID card, Social Security Card and miscellaneous medical cards. The loss was valued at $159.

Theft — 1600 block of Coker Butte Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen toolbox from a vehicle at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday. The loss was valued at $200.

Burglary — 1500 block of Satellite Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday. Items reported stolen included a white gold ring with 16 diamonds, a white and yellow gold ring with opal and diamonds and a BMW car battery. The loss was valued at $1,825.

Burglary — 600 block of Superior Court, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a business at 12:03 p.m. Tuesday. A Lenovo laptop valued at $649 was reported stolen.

Theft —1100 block of Progress Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 12:16 p.m. Tuesday. Items reported stolen included a pair of Oakley sunglasses, a phone charger, prescription medication and paperwork. The loss and damage to the vehicle was valued at $394.
