Felony Arrests

Elude — Jesus Thomas Ramirez, 38, of the 700 block of Savage Street, Grants Pass. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Ramirez Thursday on a felony charge of attempting to elude police in a vehicle, and on misdemeanor charge of reckless driving, reckless endangering and unlawfully cutting or transporting a minor forest product, on misdemeanor warrants for failing to appear in court on prior fourth-degree assault and harassment charges and for violating his probation on a prior theft charge. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Friday without bail.

Drugs — Ryan Scott Colby, 42, of the first block of Riessen Road, Grants Pass. On Thursday, Colby made his initial appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charge of third-degree theft. He was booked in the jail and released Thursday on his own recognizance.

Vehicle theft — Angel David Sanchez, 26, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Sanchez Thursday on felony charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possessing a stolen vehicle. He remained lodged in jail Friday on $15,000 bail.

Drugs — Andre Elijah Cromwell, 24, no known address. Central Point police arrested Cromwell Thursday on a felony charge of possessing a Schedule II controlled substance, and on a sanction for violating his probation on a prior first-degree theft conviction. He remained lodged in jail Friday on $7,500 bail.

Drugs — Stephen Joseph Nuckolls, 23, no known address. Central Point police arrested Nuckolls Thursday on felony charges of possessing hydrocodone, possessing methamphetamine and possessing heroin. He remained lodge in jail Friday on $22,500 bail.

Vehicle Theft — Jeffrey Christopher Smietana, 33, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Smietana Thursday on felony charges of first-degree theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was booked in the jail Thursday and released.

Drugs — Clifford Ray Rapstine, 25, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Rapstine Thursday on felony warrants charging him with possessing heroin and methamphetamine, a misdemeanor warrant for driving under the influence of intoxicants and warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of delivering and possessing heroin and possessing a Schedule III controlled substance. He remained lodged in jail Friday without bail.

Elude — Manuel Hector Sanchez, 26, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Sanchez Thursday on a felony warrant charging him with attempting to elude police in a vehicle, a misdemeanor charge of interfering with police and a misdemeanor warrant for resisting arrest. He remained lodged in jail Friday without bail.

Weapons — Aaron Edward Frick, 40, no known address. Oregon State Police troopers arrested Frick Thursday on a felony charge of possessing a firearm silencer, felony warrants for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, first-degree theft, altering a firearm ID, felon in possession of a restricted weapon and possessing methamphetamine and heroin, and on misdemeanor warrants for possessing greater than four ounces of marijuana and on a warrant for failing to appear in court on a previous marijuana-delivery charge. He was booked in the jail Thursday and released Friday.

Theft — Mohammed Omar Alotaibi, 24, of Cedar City, Utah. On Friday, Alotaibi made his initial court appearance on a felony charge of first-degree theft. He was booked in the jail and released Friday on his own recognizance.

Aggravated Theft — Jason Christopher Laqua, 44, of Eugene. On Friday, Laqua made his initial court appearance on felony charges of aggravated first-degree theft and first-degree theft. He was booked in the jail and released Friday on his own recognizance.

Burglary — Benjamin Arthur Helm-Graton, 31, of the 4000 block of Dry Creek Road, Medford. Ashland police arrested Helm-Graton Friday on felony charges of first-degree burglary, aggravated first-degree theft and first-degree theft. He was lodged in jail Friday $37,500 bail.

Sexual Abuse — Michael James Rardin, 36, of the 1400 block of North Keene Way Drive, Medford. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Rardin Friday on felony warrants charging him with first-degree sexual abuse and attempted first-degree sexual abuse, a misdemeanor warrant charging him with private indecency and on warrants for failing to appear in court on prior charges of identity theft and second-degree theft. He was lodged in jail Friday on $254,000 bail.

Drugs — James Robert Thomas, 23, no known address. The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force arrested Thomas Friday on felony charges of manufacturing, delivering and possessing heroin. He was lodged in jail Friday without bail.

Drugs — Sheridan Joshua Hall, 26, no known address. The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force arrested Hall Friday on felony charges of manufacturing, delivering and possessing heroin. He was lodged in jail Friday without bail.

Drugs — Shemia Jenise Gregory, 29, no known address. The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force arrested Gregory Friday on felony charges of delivering and possessing heroin. She was lodged in jail Friday on $30,000 bail.

Crime reports

Theft — 900 block of North Central Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of a burglary to a business at 10:31 a.m. Tuesday. A 40-inch class flat-screen TV and a combination VCR and DVD player were reported stolen. The loss was valued at $450.

Theft — 1600 block of Coker Butte Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of two stolen backpack-style leaf blowers at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday. The loss was valued at $940.

Theft — 400 block of Bowmont Circle, Medford. Medford police took a report of batteries stolen from a newer travel trailer at 8:16 p.m. Tuesday. The loss was valued at $500.

Burglary — 3500 block of Excel Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a business at 7:24 a.m. Wednesday. Four black Lenovo laptops were reported stolen. The loss and damage to a glass door was valued at $3,601.

Theft — First block of Stewart Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen ruby ring with diamond setting at at 11:39 a.m. Wednesday. The loss was valued at $400.

Theft — First block of East South Stage Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 1:21 p.m. Wednesday. Tools and the vehicle's registration were reported stolen, and the loss was valued at $200.

Theft — 900 block of Jasper Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of stolen Husqvarna and Stihl leaf blowers at 2:52 p.m. Wednesday. The loss was valued at $600.

Theft — first block of East Clark Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of stolen Husqvarna and Craftsman lawnmowers at 2:53 p.m. Wednesday. The loss was valued at $500.

Theft — 300 block of South Grape Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Items reported stolen included an HP laptop computer, a vehicle GPS device and a jacket. The loss was valued at $1,150.

Burglary — 1300 block of Biddle Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a business and stolen smartphones at 12:43 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, a Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, a Samsung Galaxy S8 and a Samsung Galaxy J7 Perx. The loss was valued at $2,830.

Theft — 3600 block of Crater Lake Highway, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 10:09 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a visor-mounted vehicle bluetooth speaker, an electronic engine code reader, seven cans of green spray paint and a can of black paint and a black flashlight. The loss was valued at $277.
