Officers from the Jackson County Narcotics Enforcement Team on Monday added to Rifkind charges of possession, delivery and manufacturing of marijuana. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $50,000 bail.
- Assault — Charleene Denise Arnold, 36, no address available. Talent police Monday arrested Arnold on charges of felony fourth-degree assault and first-degree criminal mistreatment. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where she was being held Monday in lieu of $10,000 bail.
- Assault — Brandy Nichole Busch, 25, of the 1700 block of Stewart Ave., Medford. Medford police arrested Busch early Sunday on charges of fourth-degree assault and harassment. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail and released on bail.
- Assault — Heath David Wilson, 20, of San Diego, Calif. Medford police arrested Wilson early Sunday on two counts of fourth-degree assault, harassment, second-degree criminal mischief and strangulation. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained late Sunday on $19,000 bail.
Garage fire — A two-alarm fire consumed a garage and carport and threatened a residence Monday along East Evans Creek Road, according to Jackson County Fire District No. 6.
District Chief William Fuller said the homeowners were home and discovered the flames at around 4 p.m. The fire likely started in the back of the garage where the family's dogs sleep, but no cause of area of origin was pinpointed Monday. The dog was originally believed to have been killed by the fire, but it stepped out of nearby bushes while firefighters were on the scene.
