Michelle Rene Schexnider and Matthew Gregory Miller, formerly of Medford, were married May 3 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Lake Charles, La. Father James M. Gaddy officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Angela Schexnider of Jennings, La. A 2001 graduate of Jennings High School, she received a bachelor's degree in science and radiological technology from McNeese State University, Lake Charles, La., in 2005. She is employed as a radiological technologist with Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, La.

The groom is the son of Dr. Gregory and Connie Miller of Medford. He graduated from South Medford High School in 2000. He served as a combat engineer in the U.S. Army from January 2001 through 2005, having served in Iraq and South Korea. He is currently attending Southwest Louisiana Community College pursuing a degree in accounting.

Maid of Honor was the bride's cousin, Aimie Roth, of Baton Rouge, La. Bridesmaids were the bride's cousin, Jill Menard, the bride's sisters, Katie and Karen Schexnider, and Kourtney Cormier and Josie Brown, all of Lake Charles, La.

Best man was Damian Rasmussen, of Miami, Fla.

Groomsmen were the groom's brothers-in-law, Rob Neff and Jesse Schade, of Medford, and Nick Decker of Ashland, and Ryan Brockmeier and the bride's brother, Lance Schexnider, both of Lake Charles, La.

Flower girl was the bride's cousin, Jenna Watkins, of Lake Charles, La.

Ring bearers were the groom's nephews, Treyson and Tyson Neff, of Medford.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at Treasure's of Marilyn's in Lake Charles, La.

After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the newlyweds are living in Lake Charles, La.
