Tessa Christelle Phillips and Jonathan Edwin Martinson were married Aug. 29 in an outdoor ceremony at the Applegate River Lodge in Applegate. The Rev. Steve Hoffman of the Nazarene Church in Fergus Falls, Minn., officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Terry and Andrea Phillips of Medford. A 1992 graduate of Phoenix High School, she received a bachelor's degree in elementary education/special education in 1996 from Northwest Nazarene University. She received a master's degree in special education in 2001 from Portland State University. She is the cultural coordinator for Pelican Rapids School District in Pelican Rapids, Minn.

The groom is the son of Robert and Judith Martinson of Rolette, N.D. A 1992 graduate of Rolette High School, he attended Jamestown College in Jamestown, N.D., and received an associate's degree in farm management in 1996 from North Dakota State College of Science. He is the farm operations manager at Stoltenow Farm in Wahpeton, N.D.

Maid of honor was the bride's sister, Amber Jones of Medford.

Bridesmaids were Karlean Fuller of Vancouver, Wash., and Mindy Alsworth of Portland.

Best man was Eric Berger of Fergus Falls, Minn. Groomsman was the bride's brother-in-law, Bill Jones of Medford.

Flower girl was the groom's niece, Claire Denton.

Ring bearer was the groom's cousin, Thomas Martinson.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Applegate River Lodge.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the newlyweds are living in Erhard, Minn.
