Wayne and Shirley Tinnin of Medford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a weekend family retreat March 28-30 in Walla Walla, Washington.
The weekend at Ananzi Resort included a dinner reception hosted by the families of their two sons, Bryan and Ken Tinnin, at the historic Marcus Whitman Hotel. Sixteen people, including all their children and grandchildren, attended the reception.
Wayne Tinnin married Shirley McElmurry on April 10, 1965, in Bell, California. The couple met in the Rogue Valley while Wayne served in the Navy. Wayne and Shirley moved back to the Rogue Valley in 1968. Wayne retired from Medford Plywood and Boise Cascade Corporation after 40 years with the company. Shirley worked as a hairdresser in the Rogue Valley for 10 years, and the couple raised their two sons in the valley.
In retirement, Wayne and Shirley enjoy church activities, traveling, the outdoors and visiting family and friends.
