Academic accomplishments: 3.5049 grade-point average. I've been awarded the Gold Community Service Award for two consecutive years and was chosen as Student of the Month for April. I also graduated from English Language Development in 2008, becoming officially bilingual.

Activities: I played for the junior varsity soccer team my first two years of high school and participated in the Community 101 Project. We donated $5,000 to local non-profits that were granted to us by the Oregon Foundation.

What do you do in your free time? Although I don't have much free time, I usually play basketball and soccer. I also enjoy working out.

Favorite book and author: "The Glass Castle" by Jeannette Walls.

Last Movie You Saw: "Fast Five"

Favorite teacher and why: My favorite teacher is Emily Mather. She has been a role model. Even though she has faced hard times, she has overcome them to become a respected teacher.

Plans for after high school: Attend Rogue Community College and transfer to Oregon Institute of Technology to study mechanical engineering.

What advice would you give younger students to help them get the most out of their school years? Never wait until the last minute to turn in homework. Take advantage of every opportunity life puts in your way. Be responsible, committed and respectful. With these three qualities, school will be an unforgettable adventure.
