Gene and Freida Snodgrass of Medford celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary today.
They were married April 19, 1952. They met in Oklahoma in 1949. Freida was from Texas, and Gene came from Missouri. Their paths first crossed as Freida was headed to Canada for a visit with her sister, and Gene was headed to Washington state to work in a plywood mill. She wrote Gene asking if she could visit him on her way back to Texas.
After marrying they settled in Aberdeen, Wash., until 1961, when they moved to Medford. They bought a pink house with a white picket fence, and they still live on the same piece of property, albeit in a newer home. Gene retired from the plywood mill, and Freida retired from a doctor's office call center.
