Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church

At 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, Great Vespers will begin at Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church in the Shoppes at Exit 24, 205 Fern Valley Road, Suite Z. At 8 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, Matins prayers are offered, followed by Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m., with a potluck meal shared after the services. At 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, weekday Matins prayers are offered. Vespers begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17. Divine Liturgy will be served at 7 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18. First Presbyterian Church, Medford

Pastor Murray Richmond will speak at both the 8:30 a.m. informal service and the 10:30 a.m. traditional service Sunday, Jan. 14, at First Presbyterian Church, 85 S. Holly St., Medford. The informal service features more contemporary music in a casual atmosphere. The traditional service features a full chancel choir and pipe organ music. 

The church marks the beginning of its third year offering its Jazz Vespers program, on the second Sunday of each month at 5 p.m. featuring the music of national and local jazz musicians. St. Mark’s Episcopal Church

Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 140 N. Oakdale Ave., Medford. An adult forum will be held at 9 a.m. in the parish hall. Children’s Sunday school resumes at 10 a.m. A book group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday for potluck supper and discussion in the parish hall. Medford Congregational United Church of Christ

The Rev. Laura Lee Kent will preach at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at Medford Congregational United Church of Christ, 1801 E. Jackson St., Medford. Child care is offered during the 9 a.m. hour for all children. At 10 a.m. Sunday school is provided for children in fifth grade and younger during worship. Nye is a graduate of Willamette University and American Baptist Seminary of the West and has served in ministries throughout the western states for more than 55 years. Bible study begins at 9:15 a.m. and worship is at 10:30 a.m. followed by a fellowship time where refreshments are served.
