Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church

Royal Hours will be read at 8 a.m. today at Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church, in the Shoppes at Exit 24, 205 Fern Valley Road, Suite Z. At 4 p.m. today, Vespers with the Burial Shroud will start, followed at 6 p.m. by Matins including Lamentations. Psalms will be read through the night. St. Basil Liturgy will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 15. At 11:30 p.m. Saturday, the Midnight Office will be read, leading into the Paschal Liturgy at midnight. Baskets will be blessed afterwards, and a Paschal potluck feast will follow. Agape Vespers will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 16, followed by a picnic with egg hunt in the park, weather permitting. Medford First Christian Church

Easter services at Medford First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1900 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, will begin with breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m., then the Rev. Bill Jacobs will preach on “Take a Deep Breath, and then Another” at 10:30. An Easter egg hunt will follow the service. Children of all ages are invited to join.

Ascension Lutheran Church

Ascension Lutheran Church, 675 Black Oak Dr., will celebrate Easter at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday, April 16. Brunch will be served at 10 a.m. Church youth are hosting the brunch to raise money for a trip to Seattle and the National Youth Gathering in 2018. First Presbyterian Church, Medford

Easter services will be held at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 16, at First Presbyterian Church, 85 S. Holly St., Medford. The informal 8:30 a.m. service features more contemporary music led by the Son Shine Singers in a casual atmosphere. The 10:30 a.m. traditional service features a full Chancel Choir and pipe organ music in a formal sanctuary. This week, Shepherd’s Bells, a handbell choir, will perform. The Chancel Choir will sing an anthem entitled “Easter Morning” by Paul Christiansen. There will be a pipe organ postlude.

United Church of Christ

The Rev. Laura Lee Kent will preach at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 16, at Medford Congregational United Church of Christ, 1801 E. Jackson St., Medford. Church school and nursery care are offered for children in fourth grade and younger. An Easter egg hunt for children is planned. Contemplative services of prayer are held at 6 p.m. Wednesdays.

First Presbyterian Church of Central Point

First Presbyterian Church of Central Point, 456 W. Pine St., will offer a Good Friday Stations of the Cross Service at 7 p.m. today. An Easter sunrise service will be held at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, April 16, in the church parking lot. A children’s Easter egg hunt will take place at 9:30 a.m., with crafts for the children following the hunt. The Easter service will include children flowering the cross, Holy Communion and special music by the choir. Child care will be provided during the service.
