Pet of the Week

AGE: Lovely 4-year-old Tizzy the Torti would prefer to be the queen of her castle. An earlier adoption didn’t work out because she didn’t care for the resident cat.

PERSONALITY: Tizzy’s former people say she tends to bond with one person whom she happily follows around the house. If there is no competition from other cats, she likes to sit by your side and enjoy any gentle attention you offer her, including scritches behind her ears.

HIGHLIGHTS: She slept at the foot of her former owner’s bed and loved playing with catnip toys and a laser light.

AVAILABLE: At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S. Pacific Highway, Phoenix. Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 4 p.m. weekends.

COST: Tizzy’s adoption fee has been prepaid, and includes a free wellness visit at a local veterinarian office. Tizzy is spayed.
