Glenn and Karla have 17 grandchildren.
They are spending their anniversary with family in their RV and will continue to celebrate next month together with all of their grandchildren.
Glenn graduated from Northern Arizona University. He owns and operates Glenn Miller Insurance. Karla has volunteered as a CASA and now spends her time helping Glenn in the office and loving on her grandchildren.
Glenn and Karla met when they were only 16, had their first "date" at church summer camp, took 10 months for their first kiss, survived a terrible auto accident together and were happily married at the Evangelical Free Church in Fullerton, Calif., at age 19.
They moved from sunny California to cold Flagstaff where Glenn would finish school at NAU, and soon Laura Sue would enter the world. Gretchen came next and five years later sweet baby Joshua arrived. By then Glenn had graduated and worked for Weyerhaeuser in Klamath Falls, Ore., where they helped plant a church (that still exists today), and made many life-time friends.
Then it was back to Arizona briefly, onto hot Visalia, Calif., and finally to home sweet home — Medford. Through all of these moves for Glenn's career with sawmills, extended family visits and yearly trips to the "Happiest Place on Earth" became a family routine and some of their favorite memories. Most Friday nights were spent at the local Pizza Hut where Glenn and Karla would feed whatever friends the kids invited along. If the church doors were open they attended, and that foundation changed their lives. The family had a few dogs, two cats and a horse. Karla loved to sew and Glenn continued to love basketball. Glenn and Karla opened their home to many exchange students who became "their children." Glenn and Karla loved on over 40 challenging foster teens and included them in their lives as if they were their own.
Their first grandchild will marry next month and thanks in part to their legacy, all 17 proclaim to love Jesus.
They now love the quiet routine life with their RV and their beloved rescue dog, "The Lou." Glenn is the most honest insurance man in the world and Karla makes their house a beautiful home.
The family wishes a happy 50th anniversary to Glenn and Karla. Thank you for being you and for loving us all so well together.
