Gay and Dave Wilson exchanged vows Feb. 15, 1958, in the First Presbyterian Church in San Pedro, California.
They both grew up in Southern California, although Gay was born in Yreka. Dave was raised on a farm in Chino, California, and Gay in San Pedro.
After graduating from Chino High School, Dave went on to earn a bachelor's degree in agriculture at Cal-Poly. He met Gay in college in 1955. Gay later earned her degree in business administration at Southern Oregon College in Ashland.
After farming for several years and selling farm and industrial machinery, Dave went to work for Farmers Home Administration, where he was a loan supervisor and branch manager in Riverside, California. They had two daughters while there, Judi and Marilyn.
The family moved to Medford in 1977 when Dave was transferred to take over the local FHA office. Gay worked as a tax preparer. In 1989 Dave was promoted to the regional office in Portland, and Gay became an administrative officer for the Army Corp of Engineers.
They returned to the Rogue Valley in 1995 and built a home in Jacksonville, where they lived for 20 years. They recently downsized and moved back to Medford.
They are both active in their church, Westminster Presbyterian, and the Jacksonville Kiwanis. They have traveled extensively, with several trips to Europe, Hawaii and all 50 states. They enjoy traveling in their RV with their dog Cooper.
Besides their two daughters and sons-in-law, they have four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
A reception to celebrate their anniversary is planned for a later date.
