He will present a service from 6:30 to 9 tonight, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Tonight's topic will be "Using God's Story to Defend and Apply a Biblical Worldview" and on Saturday the topic will be "How to Build a Family Dynasty."
According to its Web site, "The mission of the Mayflower Institute is to proclaim the untold story of America's history, to prepare individuals and families to defend their Judeo-Christian heritage in all spheres of culture, and to inspire a new generation to rise up and restore America to 'One Nation Under God.' Children are invited to participate in an hour of stories and activities this summer from 10 to 11 a.m. every Wednesday and from noon to 1 p.m. on Fridays. (No meetings the week of July 1.)
A responsible adult must be present. The story hour will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 87 Fourth St. in Ashland.
Story time will be held for three age groups, 5-6 years old, 7-8 years old and 9-10 years old. This is not a religious program. Tommy Tenney will speak at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at Joy Christian Fellowship, 2715 Table Rock Road, in Medford.
Tenney, who lived in Medford from 1989 to 90, is the author of the multimillion-selling "The God Chasers" series, including "God's Favorite House," "The God Catchers," "God's Eye View," and "The Prayers of a God Chaser," among others.
Co-authoring other books such as "Secret Sources of Power" and "On Daddy's Shoulders," help him fulfill his mandate to spread the gospel through writing. He has recently been focused on the Biblical story of Esther. His fiction debut, "Hadassah: One night with the King," has been made into a movie.
Tenney and his wife, Jeannie, who is intimately involved in his ministry, live in Louisiana with their three daughters and two Yorkies.
ASHLAND — A new monthly Community Prayer Service will hold its next meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Grace Point Nazarene (1760 E. Main St. near the Walker Street Middle School).
Approximately a dozen churches and fellowships are planning to attend this meeting for prayer and singing.
