St. Mark's Episcopal Church will offer a family Christmas Eve Service with Holy Eucharist Rite II, a Christmas pageant and carol sing-along at 4:30 p.m. today, Dec. 24, at Fifth Street and Oakdale Avenue, Medford. Center for Spiritual Living will offer a Candlelight Christmas Eve service with the Rev. Jim Hatton at 7 p.m. today, Dec. 24, at 1119 Ellen Ave., Medford. There will music, readings, meditation, singing of carols and candlelight.
At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, drummers are invited to bring their instruments and participate in a free "Drumming Celebration" led by guest musician and drum leader Bridget Wolf. The Unitarian Universalists will hold a burning bowl ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 26, to free the negative aspects of the past year and embrace the coming year with renewed energy. The Rev. The first part of the ceremony will involve reflection upon the challenges, changes, regrets and joys from the past year, followed by an experience of "letting go" via the burning bowl. The second part of the ceremony will focus on the Phoenix process of being reborn into a new life of opportunities, resolve and hope for the year to come.
