Corey Van Landingham and Christopher Kempf were married July 8, 2017, at Pennsylvania Hall at Gettysburg College, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Corey and Chris met in the Stegner Fellowship creative writing program at Stanford University. They both were Emerging Writers Lecturers at Gettysburg College.
The bride is the daughter of Christine Schumacher and the late David Van Landingham of Ashland. She graduated from Ashland High School, then went on to graduate from Lewis and Clark College and Purdue University, and is now attending University of Cincinnati. Corey holds a BA in English, MFA in poetry, and is a Ph.D. candidate in English literature and creative writing.
The groom is the son of Richard and Laurie Kempf of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from Carroll High School, then went on to graduate from John Carroll University and Cornell University, and he is now attending University of Chicago. Christopher has a BA in English, MFA in poetry, and is a Ph.D. candidate in English literature.
Maid of honor was Hannah Barton of New Orleans, Louisiana. Bridesmaids were Amy Stewart of Chicago, Illinois, Brittany Cavallaro of Interlochen, Michigan, Rosalie Moffett of Athens, Georgia, and Marie Haller of San Francisco, California.
Best man was Fred Solinger of Brooklyn, New York, Eric Kempf of Columbus, Ohio, Nicholas Kempf of Omaha, Nebraska, Hugh Martin of Athens, Ohio, and Kyle McAuley of Brooklyn, New York.
