Virgil and Gloria Nelson celebrated their 65th anniversary on Aug. 9, spending a week together with family.
On Aug. 19, with their two daughters, Lori and Lynn and their respective families, including twin grandsons Drew and Brett, they celebrated with a Hellgate jet boat ride and brunch.
Virgil was born and raised in Klamath Falls, and Gloria moved there with her family as a young girl from Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Both graduated from Klamath Union High School, with Virgil then moving on to work as a steel company salesman and Gloria becoming an elementary school secretary.
They both enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting through the years. When their daughters were in high school and college, they were incredibly supportive, attending numerous competitive sporting events. Later, they again showed support, attending their grandsons' high school and college games, such as football, basketball and baseball.
