Thomas C. Lloyd and Leona Faircloth Lloyd of Medford were married June 13, 1946, at First Baptist Church in Galveston, Texas.
Tom and Leona have a son, Tom Jr. (Ruth) of Spokane, Wash.; and a daughter, Linda Grytness (Chuck) of Medford. They have seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A surprise luncheon was hosted by their daughter, Linda, with family present. The luncheon was at 1 p.m. Friday, June 10, at Greg's Grill in Bend. On Sunday, June 19, following the morning service at Eastwood Baptist Church, cake and punch were served.
Tom and Leona met in high school. Leona was a World War II bride. Tom was stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., where they made their first home. Tom's career was in education, retiring as professor emeritus from NM Western University. Leona's career was as a secretary and later as a personal lines manager for an independent insurance agency. After retiring in 1993, the couple moved to Medford to be near family. They enjoy traveling abroad, cruising and RV traveling. They are active members of Eastwood Baptist Church.
