Robert and Jeanette Simpson of Central Point celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 28, 2014 with a family reunion dinner hosted by their children at the Jackalope Ranch restaurant Indio, Calif.
Robert Simpson married Jeanette Mashburn on Nov. 28, 1964 in Las Vegas. They have four children, Trese Lytle of Portland, Robert Simpson of Medford, Bryan Simpson of Spokane and Jenna Simpson of Portland.
They were high school sweethearts for two years until they married in Las Vegas where they grew up. After working for Hertz for eight years, Robert taught school at the same high school he attended with Jeanette. Jeanette went to work for Albertson's where she worked 30 years. Jeanette transferred to Medford in 1977 to open the first Albertson's store in Bear Creek Plaza. Robert taught school at Eagle Point High School, and they both retired the same day, June 6, 2003.
Since retiring, the couple have travelled to spend time in Hawaii on the Big Island. Their free time is filled with church service, volunteering, going to the gym, bike riding and yard work. The most important things in their lives are each other and their family.
