Paul and Dixie Reynolds of Medford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 31 with a renewal of vows, an exchange of anniversary rings and a buffet at the home of Dixie's brother and sister-in law, Bill and Pat Hinks of Eagle Point.

Hosts of the event, with 75 guests attending, were their daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Don Cashwell of Central Point, Marci and Mike Merrill of Sandy, Utah and Brenda and Tim Cashwell of Fayetteville, N.C.

Paul Reynolds married Dixie Hinks on March 17, 1957 in Medford.

Paul served in the Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hancock during the Korean War and met Dixie while he was on leave. After working in the dairy industry for several years, Paul went to work for 3M, which was then located in White City. He retired from 3M after 23 years.

When they met, Dixie was working for the local phone company. She took the first long distance telephone call in the Rogue Valley. In 1974, she went to work for the Medford School District as an educational assistant. She retired in 1996.

Paul and Dixie keep busy as volunteers at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

In addition to their three daughters, they have eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
