Norman and Sharron Mills of Eagle Point celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 20 through March 22 with a weekend trip to the Edwin K Bed & Breakfast in Florence. A dinner reception was also held April 18 at Porter's Restaurant in Medford.

Hosts of the events were their children, spouses and grandchildren. Nine people participated in the weekend trip, 14 people attended the dinner reception.

Norman Mills married Sharron Henry on April 18, 1959, in Shady Cove.

They lived in White City until 1972, when they built a new home in Eagle Point.

Norman was a road engineer and inspector with the U.S. Forest Service until his retirement.

Sharron worked various jobs, but her priority was raising their children.

They have five children, Julie Malekeheydayat of San Jose, Calif., Jodi Medina of Central Point, Todd Mills of White City, Jan Morris of Eagle Point and Bryon Mills of Salem. They also have 10 grandchildren.
