Larry and Ann Horton of Medford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 15, 2015, with an afternoon open house reception hosted by their children and grand children at Horton Plaza. Approximately 200 people attended the celebration.
Larry Horton married Ann Butler on Aug. 14, 1965 in Medford. They have five children, Craig of Medford, Stan of Portland, Chuch of Medford, Steve of West Linn and Jerry of Gold Hill; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Ann is a lifelong resident of Medford, and was an owner of Lawrence's Jewelers in downtown Medford for 43 years. She is a 1948 graduate of Medford High School and attended University of Oregon. She is a member of PEO Chapter BE, Gold Diggers, a group supporting Southern Oregon Historical Society, the Rogue Valley Genealogical Society and Zonta.
Larry was born in Kansas, earned an electrical engineering degree from Oregon State College and moved from Portland to Medford in 1955. He worked as an electrical engineer for California Oregon Power Company, Pacific Power and Light and Marquess and Associates. He is a developer of retirement facilities including Horton Plaza, Fountain Plaza and Twin Creeks. Larry has held memberships with Kiwanis, Rotary, Toastmasters and the Rogue Valley Genealogical Society, and has volunteered for United Way.
