Russ and Gerri Glenn of Medford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Sept. 8, with an afternoon reception at Valley View Estates in Phoenix.
The party was hosted by Vic and Liz Drew. With almost 100 in attendance, it was a great time for family and friends, including those from Washington and Colorado.
Russ and Gerri were married in Auburn, Washington, Sept. 7, 1968. They have one daughter, Karen Wilcox, and a granddaughter, Kristin.
Russ served in the U.S. Navy for four years and then worked most of his adult life as a jig builder for Boeing in Seattle. Russ and Gerri met at a St. Patrick’s Day party sponsored by Boeing. The blind date was actually set up by Russ’ best friend and Gerri’s mother.
In January 2000, Russ and Gerri moved back to Medford to enjoy retirement. Two weeks before their anniversary party here, their daughter, Karen, treated them to a trip to Hawaii so Russ could see Pearl Harbor again after 60 years, and visit the Arizona memorial.
