Parker

Adopt a Pet

AGE: Parker is a sensitive, 5-year-old Labrador retriever and treeing walker coonhound mix who was surrendered because his owner couldn’t keep him.

PERSONALITY: He’s friendly and outgoing, but he can be shy of being fussed with by people he doesn’t know. Hot dogs help, too. He loves hot dogs and will do just about anything for a little taste.

HIGHLIGHTS: He has done well with other dogs at the shelter who are easy going and friendly. Because he can be timid, he will do best in a low-traffic home with older children or adults only. Once he’s comfortable with his people, he bonds closely. He is housetrained, knows basic commands and likes to play fetch. He is currently spending time in foster care, so call the shelter to arrange a meeting 541-774-6654.

AVAILABLE: At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S. Pacific Highway, Phoenix. Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 4 p.m. weekends.

COST: Parker’s adoption fee is $105, and includes a free 1-hour in-home training and a wellness visit at a local veterinarian office. Parker is neutered.
