Erickson Air-Crane has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Air Amazonia Serviços Aeronauticos Ltda., the aviation services division of HRT Participações em Petróleo S.A., along with six helicopters and ground facilities.
Erickson, which has a manufacturing and maintenance facility on Willow Springs Road outside Central Point, is paying $23 million for the aircraft and an additional $3 million within 12 months of the projected third-quarter closing.
Erickson will enter a five-year, $29 million annual aerial services contract, including annual renewal options, with HRT to provide rotary-wing aircraft services to support oil and gas exploration in the Solimoes region. Erickson expects to service the contract with the six aircraft and two idle airships from its own fleet.
