Glory Cooper has been hired to manage the day to day operations of the Southern Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Center, 228 N. Holly St., in Medford. Cooper succeeds Sherrie Messer, who retired after 13 years with the organization.

Cooper has 12 years of nonprofit experience in client services, fundraising, volunteer coordination, event planning, grant writing, marketing and board and community relations. Most recently, she was the ACCESS nutrition programs coordinator, overseeing the food bank for two years. Previous to that, Cooper was executive director at Mobility Unlimited for seven years.


Wells Fargo has appointed J.R. Wheeler as a commercial banking relationship manager. Based in Medford, Wheeler is responsible for providing financial services to companies throughout Southern Oregon that generate annual sales of more than $20 million.

Wheeler previously worked as a relationship manager for five years in Wells Fargo's Business Banking Group, which serves firms with annual sales between $2 million and $20 million

Wheeler joined Wells Fargo in 2005 as a business specialist where he served small companies with annual sales below $2 million. Prior to that he worked as a residential loan officer for Frost Financial Group, a sports manager for Special Olympics Northern California and a sports marketing assistant at University of Oregon. He earned a business administration and international marketing degree from Sacramento State University.
