Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center has been ranked among the top 100 hospitals in the U.S. by iVantage Health Analytics.

The news comes on the heels of recognition by Truven and Healthgrades, which also evaluate hospital operations.

Rogue Regional Medical Center earned a place among the best hospitals based on the iVantage Health Analytics' Hospital Strength Index, a comprehensive measure of 56 performance indicators, including quality, outcomes, patient perspective, affordability and efficiency.

The Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center Coronary Care Unit has earned the Gold Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

The Asante CCU unit was the lone Oregon cardiac group to earn a gold rating. Of the 13 hospitals in Oregon earning a Beacon Award, only three achieved gold.

The ICU at RRMC received a Silver Beacon Award.

The Beacon Award incorporates leadership structures and systems; appropriate staffing and staff engagement; effective communication; knowledge management and best practice; evidence-based practice and processes; and patient outcomes.

Southern Oregon innkeepers saw across-the-board gains during July — before the wildfires that hit the region.

Room occupancy was up 8.8 percent, revenue per available room rose 11.1 percent, and demand was up 8.7 percent.

Figures compiled by Smith Travel Research of Tennessee for the Oregon Tourism Commission showed lodging receipts of more than $18 million came in for the five-county region.

Through July, occupancy was up 6.8 percent, revenue per available room was up 9.2 percent, and demand was up 6.8 percent. Reported lodging receipts for the region were in excess of $76.6 million.
