CENTRAL POINT — The 2013 Expo Consignment Auction is scheduled for Saturday at The Expo.

Organized by J&C Auctions and presented by Country Financial, items being auctioned include farm equipment, nursery stock, antiques, livestock equipment, shop tools and guns.

Auction items can be previewed noon to 7:30 p.m. Friday, and bidding begins at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Southern Oregon innkeepers continued a solid start to 2013, with occupancy and revenue growing through the first two months of the year.

Room revenue, per room revenue, occupancy rates and room demand all grew in Douglas, Josephine, Jackson, Klamath, Lake, Coos and Curry counties, according to data compiled by Smith Travel Research of Hendersonville, Tenn.

The region's room revenue of more than $12.6 million was 7.2 percent ahead of 2012.

During February, revenue per available room grew 6 percent in Southern Oregon and 11.4 percent statewide.

ASHLAND — Studio 78, located on the corner of East Main and Second streets, is now open.

The photo studio handles all genres of photography, including individual and senior portraits, weddings and events, as well as fine art by local photographers and artists.

The studio's operators include Brent Moore and Jon Vait, 1978 Ashland High graduates.

Moore also serves as operations manager for ScienceWorks in Ashland, and Vait is a veteran rural firefighter.

They are joined by Denise Baratta, a 1985 Ashland High School graduate who has worked as a photojournalist for 20 years.

A grand opening is set 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 5.
