Pholia Farm in Rogue River won two of 11 awards captured by Oregon cheesemakers at the American Dairy Goat Association's recent Goat Cheese Competition in Fort Collins, Colo.

Pholia Farm claimed second-place awards in the American Originals Other Commercial category for Elk Mountain and in American Made International Style Other Commercial division for Hillis Peak.

All told, four Oregon Cheese Guild entrants walked away with a record 11 awards in competition that attracted nearly 30 commercial competitors from across the United States. First-, second- and third-place awards were given in 22 commercial categories.

Rogue Creamery of Central Point is producing a hand-selected special reserve edition of the raw milk cheese that will be carried by Whole Foods Market, the world's top natural and organic foods supermarket.

"Blue cheese is what Rogue Creamery hangs their hat on, and this is the best blue cheese made in America today by one of the world's finest artisan cheese operations," said Cathy Strange, Whole Foods Market's global cheese buyer, in a statement.

Avista Corp. has declared a quarterly dividend of 15 cents per share on the company's common stock. The common stock dividend is payable Dec.14 to shareholders of record at the close of business on Nov. 29.
