Lee Lanphier wins service award for work-training

Lee Lanphier has been recognized by the Rogue Valley Workforce Development Council with its Distinguished Service Award for his commitment to worker training.

Lanphier is president of Lanphier Associates, Inc. a marketing company serving manufacturing, health care, technology and service clients throughout Oregon. He spent the past four years as a member and president of the council and initiated the council's PowerUp Academy — a training program designed to meet just-in-time business demands for training workers. The Academy offers half-day and full-day trainings and has served more than 150 businesses and 900 workers since its launch in January 2009.

In addition to his work with the work force council, Lanphier has served in a leadership role with the Southern Oregon High Performance Enterprise Consortium. He is an inventor and past owner of a small manufacturing company and was recognized in 2007 by Oregon Business Magazine as one of the state's 100 Great Business Leaders.
