Couple's business will provide organic products

Lisa and Justin Rohde have opened Rogue Natural Living in Cave Junction.

The Web-based operation is a provider of sustainable, organic, fair trade and non-toxic products. She worked for Solutions, an organic clothier in Arcata, Calif. and he's a former Siskiyou Project employee. Justin Rohde says the two hope to open a storefront within the next year.

The company carries organic clothing, toys, cloth diapers, nontoxic paints, stains, finishes, cleaning products and drinking water filtration systems.

For Southern Oregon clients, Rogue Natural Living offers pickup and delivery for clothing and household and office products.

Beginning July 1, Oregonians filing for unemployment insurance benefits will see the maximum weekly benefit increase to $463, while the minimum amount will be $108.

The Employment Department annually recalculates the maximum and minimum amounts paid weekly to those filing for unemployment benefits.

The amounts are set as percentages of the average weekly wage earned by Oregonians.

The minimum unemployment figure is 15 percent of average weekly wage, and the maximum amount is 64 percent.

The new payment amounts rose modestly from those paid during the past year.

The maximum payment over the past 12 months has been $445, with a $104 minimum payment.

The change affects new unemployment insurance claims filed with an effective date on or after July 1.

Those with existing unemployment claims will continue to receive the same weekly amount.
