Wildfire causes delays near Jacksonville

Oregon Department of Forestry crews are on the scene of a fire burning along Highway 238 near Wagon Trail Drive.

The fire, reported shortly after 4:30 p.m., appeared to have burned about one acre, forestry officials said.

The Oregon Department of Transportation reports that one lane of the highway is blocked so firefighters can work. Drivers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes and should consider traveling an alternate route, officials said. Traffic control flaggers have been stationed in Jacksonville and at Cady Road to direct drivers.
