Vigil focuses on domestic violence

Honor recent victims of domestic violence at a candlelight vigil on the steps of the Jackson County Justice Building.

The public vigil will be at 7 p.m. to remember Kristy Huddleston, who died of a gunshot wound to the head on Friday, and Liesa Werner, who died of a gunshot wound to the chest on Sunday. The Jackson County Council Against Domestic and Sexual Violence hosts the event at 100 S. Oakdale Ave..

Werner's former boyfriend, took his own life after shooting her, authorities say. Huddleston's husband, Bourne Huddleston, is held in the Jackson County Jail on numerous murder charges related to her death.
